Helen and Luis Photography
Introducing
Our story begins by becoming photographer friends who initially connected over our mutual love for the art of photography; from chasing sunsets to capturing beautiful moments. Over our time knowing one another, we ventured into many photo adventures together. As time passed and our friendship grew we came to realized there was more to our relationship, and so two freelance photographers became a photographer duo with one common goal; to use our skills to help you capture life’s most treasure moments.
Our Story
Hello there, we are Helen and Luis, a photographer duo located in the Niagara Region (Thorold / Welland / St Catharines) specializing in Portrait, Family, Couples & Wedding Photography.
We believe that communicating with and understanding our subjects are the only way to truly capture their essence in a photograph. We care about the journey that leads to a photograph as much as the final product itself.
We take pride in emerging ourselves in each project we take, making sure that we understand and believe in the message that is being portrayed by each taken shot. We believe that this brings a more personal touch to a photograph that can create a deeper connection with the viewer, making the message behind it even stronger.
Meet Helen
Hi there, I’m Helen! I’m a portrait, nature & event photographer who specializes in natural light. I love capturing authentic moments, and always aim to create a comfortable atmosphere for my clients. Growing up, I loved photography but often felt anxiety about being photographed myself and as a result, I strongly believe in helping my clients feel safe, confident, and at ease during photoshoots.
My work has been featured on social media by Canon Canada and Henry's Camera. I have also worked with numerous photographers, newspapers, creative directors, bands, actors, authors, companies, and organizations throughout Niagara.
Meet Luis
Luis Here! When I was 10, I discovered a passion for the arts beginning with an inclination for drawing, but photography used to be only a chore to do during family events and outings. As the years went by, photography evolved from the tedious task of being forced to take family photos, to a passion like no other. I love to capture the interactions between subjects and their surroundings, the emotions in a scene, and showing a different view of the world that the eyes don’t usually see on their own.
I am a Portrait, Landscape & Commercial Photographer who specializes in shaping light, which I have been doing for over 12 years. My work has been used in magazine publications, marketing material and product design.
